Macau registered this Sunday the first two deaths related to Covid-19, since the start of the pandemic more than two years ago, health authorities said in a statement.
Two women, aged 100 and 94, suffering from a chronic disease, were diagnosed “as positive cases of covid-19”without showing symptoms, according to the same note from the New Type of Coronavirus Contingency Coordination Center.
On Saturday, Macao registered 90 more cases of the disease, for a total of 784 infections, after the new wave of Covid-19, which led the territory to decree the state of immediate prevention on June 19, bringing forward the end of school year and suspend, totally or partially, services and businesses.

Since the beginning of the outbreak, Macau residents have been required to carry out rapid tests at home, having also undergone three general tests.
