Macau records the first two deaths from Covid-19 in more than two years

Macau registered this Sunday the first two deaths related to Covid-19, since the start of the pandemic more than two years ago, health authorities said in a statement.

Two women, aged 100 and 94, suffering from a chronic disease, were diagnosed “as positive cases of covid-19”without showing symptoms, according to the same note from the New Type of Coronavirus Contingency Coordination Center.

On Saturday, Macao registered 90 more cases of the disease, for a total of 784 infections, after the new wave of Covid-19, which led the territory to decree the state of immediate prevention on June 19, bringing forward the end of school year and suspend, totally or partially, services and businesses.
