A woman was fatally stabbed on Wednesday on the island of Gotland, Sweden. The victim, in his 60s, was at a political rally ahead of the general election that takes place in just over two months, according to Reuters.
The news agency also advances that a man was arrested on suspicion of murder. The crime took place near the place where Annie Lööf, leader of the Center Party, was giving a speech.
Swedish newspaper Expressen said the suspected suspect is a 33-year-old man with links to the Nordic neo-Nazi resistance movement, NMR. The Swedish police have not confirmed this information, but do not rule out the existence of a political motivation behind the crime.
