Turkish Ambassador to Doha Mustafa Kokso said that “his country has overcome crises and is busy building its future, has strengthened the prestige of the state and won the respect of the international community.”
During a meeting with journalists in the Qatari capital on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Day of Democracy and National Unity, Kokso noted that “after eliminating this enmity in its infancy, Turkey was able to restore state institutions to ensure this crisis does not happen again, may Turkey remain a democratic country and peaceful transfer of power through elections and ballot boxes, not boxes of ammunition.”
He referred to the position of Qatar and its position towards Turkey, stressing: “We will not forget the position of the brothers in Qatar towards our country, and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was the first leader to condemn the coup among world leaders.” noting “the popular solidarity that the Qatari people have expressed to Turkey in various ways”.
He stated that “the most dangerous thing presented in this attempt is its targeting of the state and its institutions, and not just its political leadership, as some think.”
