US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the US would impose “serious consequences” on countries that violate the international economic order.

Yellen, who is currently visiting South Korea, pointed out that “economic integration is being used as a weapon by Russia” and called on “all responsible countries to unite in the face of Russia’s war in Ukraine,” as she put it.

In statements released by the American website Al-Hurra, Yellen said she was “encouraged by the results of negotiations with Korean colleagues regarding the proposal to set a price ceiling for Russian oil.”

The US Treasury Secretary today visited LG Chem’s battery plant, where the United States is working with its allies to build resilient supply chains to cope with supply disruptions and high inflation.

After the tour, Secretary Yellen plans to give a speech on building resilient supply chains and “Supporting Friends,” a move to diversify U.S. supply chains with trusted economic partners that can help ease inflationary pressures and eliminate supply bottlenecks.
