King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed that “the Palestinian cause is the key to a comprehensive and lasting peace”, stressing that “there is no security or stability in the region without a solution that will remove the injustices of the Palestinian people.”

In an interview with the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai, King Abdullah II stated that “economic expansion will not replace a political solution”, noting “the need for regional projects that include the Palestinians, and the need for them to place and participate in all these projects, in no way without marginalizing them.”

In another aspect of his statements, the King of Jordan emphasized “the need for an Arab institutional protection system”, noting that “this issue requires consultation, coordination and long-term work with all Arab parties.”

He explained that his country “has never been and never will be otherwise than with the Arab nation, its interests and problems”, emphasizing the importance of “the clarity of the prerequisites and goals for the defense system, especially since this proposal is an integral part of the principles on which the Arab League”.

He touched on “the Middle East’s need for stability, mutual respect, good neighborliness, respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs”, pointing to “the security challenges that Jordan faces on its borders.” He stated that “his country’s borders are secure thanks to the efforts of its army and security services,” noting that “drug and arms smuggling is a danger that targets our brothers and sisters, as well as Jordan, which makes Amman interested in participation in any regional effort aimed at achieving prosperity and development”.
