Sanofi’s profit rises 23% to 4,594 million euros in the first half

The French pharmaceutical company Sanofi revealed this Thursday that it obtained a profit of 4,594 million euros in the first half of this year, 22.6% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Billing in the period under analysis had a year-on-year increase of 14.2% to 19,790 million, due to the good performance of the specialized medicine activity, which registered an increase of 19.8%, driven by Dupixent, a medicine for dermatitis, which increased sales by 44.4%, the multinational reported in a statement.

Sanofi Chief Executive Paul Hudson highlighted the 15.4% rise in net earnings per share and also said the company had revised upwards its profit forecast for the end of the fiscal year.

If until now it was expected that the improvement in net earnings per share would be around 10%, the Sanofi now estimates that it will be close to 15% by the end of this year.
