Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Elias Bou Saab, together with a number of lawyers, financial, economic and banking specialists, representatives of economic authorities and the Association of Banks and Depositors, completed a “study of the capital control bill.” It was decided to propose the establishment of a committee composed of the Central Council of the Bank of Lebanon, as well as two experts on economic issues.

Noting that “this initiative was put forward to seek the views of professionals representing a range of relevant and active components in economic, financial, banking and legal affairs in preparation for a consultative report at the end of the meetings to facilitate the process of studying laws and presenting them to order of parliamentarians so that they can benefit from them when they are discussed in parliamentary committees.

In another context, Bou Saab discussed the latest local developments with interim government finance minister Yousef Khalil.
