Politico: European countries are preparing for the risk of escalation between America and China over Taiwan

The American magazine Politico, citing Western diplomatic sources, indicated that European countries are preparing for the consequences of a dangerous escalation between the United States and China in light of the war of words raging between them over Taiwan.

She pointed out that “the escalating war of words between the United States and China over Taiwan could easily escalate and be closely watched in European capitals.”

The newspaper reported that EU officials from Brussels to Paris are reluctant to discuss the dispute publicly, even as China approaches the risk of a military confrontation with the United States that could spiral out of control. She explained that analysts are urging EU leaders to be on the alert and prepare for the trouble ahead.
