Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi, pointed out that “although Iran, based on 15 clear reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, fulfilled its nuclear obligations under the nuclear deal, it withdrew from it.” America reintroduced unilateral embargoes in May 2018 and launched a maximum pressure campaign against Iran to prevent it from enjoying the economic benefits promised under the agreement.

During the Tenth International Conference on the Revision of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, he noted that “Iran acted responsibly and was able to maintain this agreement thanks to its strategic patience and maximum resistance”, stressing that “Iran is negotiating with other parties.” “In good faith to resume the implementation of the agreement in full. This goal has been delayed because the US government has not yet decided to guarantee the economic benefits to Iran that were promised under the agreement.”

Varangi stressed that “when America makes the right decision, Iran, in turn, will cease its countervailing measures and resume full implementation of nuclear measures in accordance with the 2015 agreement.”
