The Ansar Allah group accused the Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen of hijacking the Sea Hart oil tanker, despite receiving permission from the UN, of a new violation of the truce.

Sanaa Oil Company spokesman Issam Al-Mutawakil told the Yemeni news agency Saba that “on the first day of the truce after the last extension and following the commitment of the UN envoy to remove obstacles and fully implement the terms of the agreement to ensure the regular flow of fuel to the port of Hodeidah in the future, the coalition Al-Arabi detained the Sea Hart tanker and indicated that “two ships are currently detained.”

Earlier, UN Special Representative in Yemen Hans Grundberg announced the approval of the internationally recognized government and the Houthis to extend the truce in the country for another two months.

Over the past few days, there have been widespread international calls for the Yemeni parties to extend the truce in the country, which was due to expire on August 2.

In early June, the Yemeni government and the Houthis agreed to extend the humanitarian truce in the country for a period of two months after the expiration of the previous similar truce, which began on April 2.

Among the most important provisions of the truce are a ceasefire and the opening of the port of Hodeidah, the resumption of commercial flights through Sana’a airport and the opening of roads in the city of Taiz, besieged by the Houthis since 2015.
