Russia’s representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that “an agency delegation will soon visit Ukraine’s Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.”

In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “We will make every effort to assist the IAEA delegation in visiting the Zaporozhye plant.”

Notably, Russian forces have taken control of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine since early March last year. Since February 24, the Russian Armed Forces have been conducting a special operation on the territory of Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine exchange accusations over the bombing of nuclear power plants, while Moscow blames the international community for taking responsibility and warning of a nuclear catastrophe. For his part, the press secretary of the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, earlier explained that “the delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency has not yet visited the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine for security reasons”, noting that “this case is very dangerous, the devil is in the details” .
