Canadian police announced the arrest of a second suspect in knife attacks in the west of the country on Sunday.
“Miles Sanderson was found and arrested near Rosstern, Saskatchewan,” she said, noting that “there is no longer a threat to public safety in connection with this investigation.”
Police suspect Miles Sanderson and his brother Damien, who was later found dead, carried out a series of attacks on Sunday that left 10 people dead and 18 injured, some seriously, and their motives are still unknown. Among the dead were women and men aged 23 to 78.
Police said Damien Sanderson’s body was found with multiple “visible wounds” and it is likely that he was “killed by his brother.” Motives for the attacks are not yet known, but Miles Sanderson has a record of violent acts and nearly 60 previous criminal convictions.
