The US State Department pointed out that “the claim that Washington is behind the Nord Stream incident is unfounded and is part of Russian disinformation.”

A senior US defense official also confirmed to Reuters that “the United States has absolutely nothing to do with the Nord Stream pipeline leak.”

Today, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: “On February 7, 2022, US President Joe Biden said that Nord Stream would stop if Russia invades Ukraine … Biden is obliged to answer the question of whether the United States suffered beyond his threat.

And the Swedish foreign minister announced: “France, as chairman of the Security Council, has informed us that Russia has requested a meeting to discuss the issue of the Nord Stream leak, and that this meeting is scheduled for Friday,” explaining that Sweden and Denmark have instructed to provide members of the Security Council information about the leak that occurred in their two economic zones.

Yesterday, the Swedish seismological service said: “We have detected strong underwater explosions in areas around the Nord Stream gas pipeline, coinciding with monitoring of a decrease in gas flows.”

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also noted that the Nord Stream oil spill was a deliberate act.

On September 26, the Danish Maritime Authority reported a gas leak in the Baltic Sea near the route of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline connecting Russia with Germany.
