Controversial US billionaire Elon Musk has come under fire for proposing a “peace plan” to end the war in Ukraine, which was sparked after Russia attacked its neighbor on February 24.
Musk clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after the world’s richest man proposed a new referendum on four regions recently annexed by Russia, the results of which the international community refused to acknowledge.
Through a tweet published on his Twitter account, Musk considered that if the residents of the regions voted in favor of rejecting the option of joining Moscow’s rule, Russia should withdraw from these regions.
This tweet angered the president of Ukraine to post a counter-tweet in which he asked the referendum “Which Elon Musk do you like more” and gave two answers: a pro-Ukrainian Musk or a pro-Russian Musk?
For his part, Mykhailo Podolic condemned the proposal by the owner of the electric car company Tesla, asking in a tweet: “Will the 100,000 people who died in the city of Mariupol be allowed to vote? Will those stuck in concentration camps Can they. To do it?”
He continued: Elon Musk, you dream of inventing space rockets and stationed on Mars, while Russia innovates in the construction of mobile crematoria and dreams of eliminating Ukrainians, no, It is not about voting.
On the other hand, Musk, who has shown great support for Ukraine by supporting Ukraine with the Internet space system, has considered Crimea as Russian since 1783, which indicates that the region was ceded to Ukraine during the former Soviet Union.
The 51-year-old billionaire tweeted: “Let’s ask the people living in Donbass and Crimea if they want to be part of Russia or Ukraine.”
He emphasized that he “doesn’t care if his proposal is unpopular” and claimed that he cares more about the “needless death of millions of people”.
He wrote on Twitter: “The population of Russia is three times the population of Ukraine, so Ukraine’s victory in an all-out war is unlikely.”
In the end, he said: If you care about the people of Ukraine, make peace.
But Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauvoda responded to Musk with a tweet, saying, “When someone steals your Tesla wheels, that doesn’t make them the legal owner of it, even if they give them a vote. one sight.”
