Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that he conveyed to his Israeli counterpart that the violence at Masjid al-Aqsa must end as soon as possible, assuming that grief over the Ramadan attacks has prevailed.
According to Anadolu Agency, Çavuşoğlu contacted Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen during a Ramadan fast-breaking fast in Afyonkarahisar province in western Turkey and informed him that injustice and violence must end as soon as possible. He contacted his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad al-Maliki, and expressed the support of the Turkish people to the Palestinians.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, Israeli forces have invaded the courtyards of Masjid al-Aqsa and attacked mosque worshipers, raising tensions and conflicts throughout the Palestinian territories. Rockets from Lebanon, Gaza and Syria into Israeli settlements, as well as Arab areas inside Israel.
