“Russian artillery continues to fire” during evacuations to flooded areas in Kherson, denounced Zelensky, who calls on international organizations to act on the ground: “We need a clear response.”

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, described, this Wednesday, the Moscow troops as “savages”, since they “Russian artillery continues to fire” during evacuations to flooded areas in Kherson due to the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam.

In his daily speech, Volodymyr Zelensky reported that more than two thousand people have already been evacuated from Kherson and Mykolaiv, thanking “everyone involved” in the rescue efforts. “Our task is to protect lives and help people,” said the Ukrainian president, denouncing that the Russian troops, in the regions they occupy in the oblast of Kherson, abandoned the populations in “terrible conditions”.

“We need a clear and quick response from the world to what is happening”he appealed, lamenting that it was “almost impossible to establish” how many people “may die” in the Kherson regions that are “temporarily occupied” by the Russians.

Appealing to international organizations such as the Red Cross, Volodymyr Zelenksy asked them to join the rescue operations. “If no international organization intervenes in the disaster zone, it means that the international architecture does not exist and is unable to function,” said the Ukrainian leader.

In the judicial field, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that he wants to take the Russian forces to court. “They controlled the dam and the entire thermoelectric plant for more than a year. Russian propagandists were already talking about a possible human disaster, which they ended up causing,” the Ukrainian president blamed.
