The 2024 World Cross-Country Championships, scheduled for the Croatian cities of Medulin and Pula, will be moved to another European city, World Athletics announced this Friday, which considered that preparations for the event have not advanced.
World Athletics regrets to announce that the 2024 World Cross Country Championships will no longer be held in Medulin and Pula, Croatia. “It considers that preparations have not advanced enough for Medulin and Pula to be able to host the event on February 10 next year, as planned,” he said in a statement.
World Athletics also explains that it is in “advanced negotiations” with an alternative host in Europe to hold the event next year, noting that the decision will be announced at the end of September.
