    Dozens of people were killed and wounded in an Israeli attack in Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip, in the early hours of Sunday, Reuters reports citing Palestinian doctors.

    The official Palestinian news agency WAFA and Hamas media put the number of dead at 32. The Hamas-controlled territory’s Health Ministry did not immediately confirm the death toll.

    Israeli airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut caused serious damage to some buildings at the Lebanese University, according to state media, cited by Aljazeera.

    Some faculty and laboratory buildings at the Rafik Hariri campus in the Hadath area suffered considerable damage, the National News Agency reported on Saturday.

    Bassam Badran, the university’s rector, told reporters that the institution “will continue to resist the Israeli war machine.”

    “These attacks will not prevent him from continuing his mission of education and service to the community,” he added.

    Badran said the university started the academic year a few days ago by offering distance education in all its branches and institutes.
