More than 1,400 Russian bombs, drones or missiles launched in a week
Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky said today that Russia attacked Ukraine over the past seven days with more than 1,400 air attack devices, including guided bombs, drones and missiles.
“This week, our air defense worked day and night to protect the skies over Ukraine from Russian terrorism,” Zelensky said in a message posted on his Telegram channel, listing the systems the Russian Federation used in its airstrikes over the past seven days. .
“This week it used more than 800 guided bombs, around 600 attack drones and almost 20 missiles of various types,” added Zelensky, who also referred to the Russian attack that occurred in the early hours of today.
In this drone attack, the Russian Federation used 145 devices. According to the Ukrainian air force, 62 of the drones were shot down.
In total, “67 drones were lost in various regions of Ukraine” and “another 10 drones left Ukrainian airspace towards Moldova, Belarus and the Russian Federation,” Ukrainian authorities said.
“Odessa and other regions suffered from the attack of the occupiers. Residential buildings and private property were destroyed,” according to the military General Staff, adding that there was no loss of life and that assistance was provided to the victims.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that it shot down a total of “70 Ukrainian drones”, almost half of which were in the Moscow region, in the largest attack on the capital since the start of the conflict in 2022.

According to the federal agency, 36 flights to these destinations were diverted during the drone attacks.

Sheremetyevo International Airport, north of the capital, also limited its operations.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 23 drones had been shot down over Russian territory during the night: 17 over the Bryansk region, three over Rostov, two over Belgorod and one over the Kursk region, partially occupied by the Ukrainian army since last August. .
The attack comes as Russia hosts diplomats and senior officials from some 50 African countries in the southwestern city of Sochi for a ministerial conference.
