Only 2% of the PRR has so far reached companies and families

Less than 2% of the funds received under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), so far, have reached companies and families, according to data from the Structure Mission to Recover Portugal (EMRP) highlighted this Thursday by the Público newspaper .

According to the latest available data, as of June 22, Portugal has so far received 3,321 million euros, paid 611 million euros to direct beneficiaries, has 1,170 million euros “in transit to intermediate beneficiaries” and paid 108 million to final beneficiaries. Of these, it only paid families and companies, as final beneficiaries, 51 million euros and 4 million euros, respectively.

So, where did the first PRR disbursements go? The data already shows that 55% of the funds received and already paid went to State entities. Of this, the largest part, 217 million, went to public companies and the second largest part, 211 million, to schools. In addition to these, 179 million were allocated to other public entities.

Among the smaller payments, 51 million were given to families; 35 million to municipalities and metropolitan areas; 22 million to higher education institutions; four million for companies; 300 thousand euros for solidarity and social economy entities; and 100 thousand euros for entities of the scientific and technological system.
