Web Summit will hire at least 50 more people in Portugal over the next year, increasing the team to 150 workers. The company, which this Thursday inaugurated the new office in the Hub Criativo do Beato, where the Fábrica dos Unicórnios desired by Carlos Moedas is located, currently has 90 employees in various locations in the country, including Porto.
Paddy Cosgrave, founder of Web Summit, guarantees, quoted in a statement, that the entire team is “extremely excited to be part of the Hub Criativo do Beato.” “As this area of Lisbon grows in energy and creativity, Hub Criativo do Beato is becoming a magnet for young entrepreneurs and established companies in Portugal and for those moving to Portugal.”
When it first arrived in Lisbon in 2016, Web Summit had a team of just four employees. Since then, the number has increased to 90. In the note, the company explains that 75% of the team based in Portugal – and with members of 12 nationalities – will be in the new Lisbon office.
This year’s Web Summit will take place between November 13 and 16 at the Altice Arena. The event will bring together more than 70 thousand businessmen, investors and journalists from various countries around the world.
