Colep’s new innovation center carries out 99% of its work outside Portugal, according to the general director

The executive president of Colep Consumer Products Portugal told Lusa this Wednesday that “99% of the work carried out” in the new Vale de Cambra innovation center, an investment of 3.5 million euros, “is for outside Portugal” .

Colep Consumer Products Portugal, which operates in the cosmetics and beauty, personal care and wellness segments, opens its new ‘Innovation Hub’ (IH) in Vale de Cambra, an investment that consolidates the company’s position as a leader in innovation in the sector and reinforces its commitment to research and development of differentiating products, says the group.

When asked which markets the innovation center will work for, Pierfranco Accardo said that, “Currently, 99% of the work carried out at IH is carried out outside Portugal”.

Asked if this innovation center will use artificial intelligence (AI), the person in charge said “not at the moment.”

Right now, “the work we are doing is trying to discover how AI can help us here, so we can then apply it,” he concluded.

Colep Consumer Products Portugal is a company with a global presence, operating in Portugal, Poland and Mexico.
