The United States and the Dominican Republic Under 20 teams reached the finals of the football competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, reaching the final of the CONCACAF (North, Central America and the Caribbean) championship in Honduras.

The United States beat Honduras 3-0 in the semi-finals, alternating with Paxton Aronson (3), Alejandro Alvarado Jr. (22) and Quinn Sullivan (64).

And the United States, returning for the first time since 2008 at the Beijing Olympics, took revenge on Honduras, who beat it 2-1 in the semi-finals of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, and deprived him for the third time in a row since the Olympic wedding after being absent from the 2012 and 2016 Olympics years.

This was the second time the United States had missed three consecutive Olympics after 1960, 1964 and 1968.

On the other hand, the Dominican Republic needed a penalty to clear Guatemala’s 4-2 hurdle after they drew 2-2 in regulation and extra time.

Guatemala scored a clean double in the first half thanks to Archimedes Ordóñez (23) and Sebastián Magnon (29 errors against their country), while the Dominican Republic responded in the second half thanks to Guillermo de Peña (62) and Edison Ascona (64).

The Dominican Republic reached the final of the Olympic Games for the first time.

The final match will take place on Monday.
