New York Times Making celebrities out of several dozen “QAnon” Truth Social accounts in an attempt to discredit the platform and its creator, former President Donald Trump, because it provides more freedom of speech than its highly restrictive rivals, Silicon Valley.

NewsGuard, a media watchdog that checks the credibility of news outlets, identified 88 users on Truth Social, each with more than 10,000 followers, who support the QAnon conspiracy theory. 32 of these accounts were previously banned by Twitter.
The report is based on NewsGuard data, which has been extensively covered by Breitbart News in the past and denounced by Jim Banks (R-IN), a senior Republican and Armed Services Committee member of the House of Representatives.
Despite NewsGuard describing itself as a fake news watchdog, NewsGuard’s own founders make false statements about major national news. In the middle of the 2020 presidential election cycle, NewsGuard co-founder Steve Brill said on national television that he thought the Hunter Biden laptop story was “a hoax perpetrated by the Russians”.
This was stated in a comment by a representative of Truth Social on Federalist. New York Times criticized the newspaper for not correcting its own bad news.

In a comment to Breitbart News, NewsGuard co-CEO Gordon Krowitz stressed that the organization did not turn a blind eye to Truth Social and, while scrutinizing news sites, evaluated the false reporting of the Hunter Biden story.
