Scarborough: Herschel Walker’s Republican nomination ‘talks badly about this country’

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Tuesday criticized Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker.

Scarborough joked that he needed an “Ovaltin decoder ring” to understand what the former football star was saying in his “empty comments”. “It is against this country that this man has been elected by any major party,” he added.

“Former football legend and Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker has been criticized several times for his exaggerated and sometimes shocking comments,” said co-host Mika Brzezinski, who opened the segment.

What about inconsistent comments? Scarborough responded before releasing clips of Walker discussing climate change, gun control and evolution.

“You know, when I hear that, I can almost hear Donald Trump call me ‘man,’ ‘person,’ ‘woman,’ ‘camera,’ ‘tape,’ or whatever. He looks like Daniel Webster,” he said.

Scarborough added: “But I’m listening to Herschel Walker and I swear I need an Ovaltine decoder ring because I have no idea what he’s talking about. Some conservatives writing for the National Review said it was bad for this country to have this person elected by any major party.
