The Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that “Minister Bassam Tome has commissioned the Zamlat al-Mahr 1 well, located 40 km west of Palmyra, initially into the network via a 2.7 km side branch to the Shaer line and the Ebla plant. ”, noting that this was done before the completion of work on the main line connecting the Zamlat al-Mahr field with the Sharif field and gas plant in the south of the central region, 30 km long, to introduce new gas into the network at maximum speed.

The ministry said in a statement that “the minister visited the drilling sites of the Zamlat al-Mahr 2 well, where the Urlmah 3 electric excavator is operating, and the depth has reached about 2,000 m, is expected to reach the productive layer in a short time.” He also inspected the drilling site at Zamlat al-Moor 3, where the National 2 drilling rig is operating, and the drilling depth has reached 170 m, and by the end of this new field, production from this new field is expected to exceed half a million m3. year, while work is underway to complete the exploration of this field, which was discovered at the end of 2021.
