Speaking to Radio Observador, João Matos, Matosmix’s marketing and communication manager, said that the company does not want to be associated with Russia, but there is not much it can do, in legal terms, to protect its image.

“The only comment we have to make is that, in the current situation, we do not want to be associated with Russia and we do not want our logo to be confused with the logo that the new McDonald’s in Russia now implements,” he began. “We do not intend to make any changes. The logo is ours and it is registered since 2021. We do not intend to change it because we made a rebrand in 2021”, he adds. However, the official admits that the company does not have the capacity to claim “because the logo is only registered in Portugal.”

“We don’t like to be associated with Russia.” “Russian McDonald’s” has a logo similar to that of a Portuguese company

Russian McDonald’s is now “delicious, period”. 15 units reopened in Russia

The “new” Russian McDonald’s reopened this Sunday, with 15 restaurants, after it could no longer carry the name and image of the American chain.
