The French news agency reported that Queen Elizabeth’s body was transported from Balmoral Palace in Scotland to the royal residence in Edinburgh on a six-hour flight before heading to London for an official burial on September 19.

Buckingham Palace has announced that a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth II will be held on September 19 at Westminster Abbey in London at 11:00 local time (10:00 GMT).

The royal box is made of oak, covered with the Royal Flag of Scotland and surmounted by a wreath. A carriage with six guards, accompanied by the Queen’s daughter Princess Anne, slowly moves from a distant castle and passes through small towns and villages on the way to Edinburgh, where it will be delivered. The coffin will be delivered to Holyrood Palace Throne Room to St Giles Cathedral where it will remain until Tuesday and later be flown to Buckingham Palace in London before the Queen is buried at Westminster Hall from next Wednesday.

After a memorial service at Westminster Abbey, the body will be taken to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in west London.
