As many as 100 staff at King Charles III’s residence may be fired after he takes the throne, The Guardian reported on Tuesday.

The newspaper quoted sources as saying that “these staff have been given redundancy notices as the new monarch moves from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace.”

He added: “Among those who have received such a notification, there are employees of the financial department, public relations, personal secretaries and family employees. According to the source, all employees expressed surprise at these notifications.”

At the same time, he noted that “the final decision in this regard has not yet been made. It is expected that the employees who will be fired will be offered alternative jobs in other royal families.”

According to the latest information, 101 people work at the royal residence Clarence House.
