The Portuguese pilot Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) regretted this Saturday “problems with the front tire” of his motorcycle in the race pique of the French MotoGP Grand Prix, fifth round of the season, which finished in 11th position.
In statements reproduced by the Trackhouse team press service, the Almada driver considered that the result was “a little disappointing.”
“It was a bit disappointing because I had some problems with the front tire or the front axle itself. [suspensão]. Basically, the front axle skidded many times, either when braking or in the middle of corners when accelerating, so there was a risk of falling even at low speed,” explained Miguel Oliveira.
The Portuguese rider considered the behavior of the motorcycle “really strange.”
“I tried to attack and not fall at the same time. I can’t say why this happened, but something was really wrong. The team is trying to understand what happened to prevent it from happening again tomorrow. [no domingo]”in the main race, said the Portuguese driver.

“In Q1 I did a good performance but then, in Q2, I had three consecutive laps in which I encountered yellow flags, so I couldn’t do better,” he highlighted.
The Spanish Jorge Martín (Ducati) won the sprint race and consolidated his leadership in the MotoGP World Championship.
Miguel Oliveira dropped one position, to 14th place, with 23 points.
On Sunday the main race will take place, in which the Portuguese driver will start from 12th position.
