PCP wants to restore the legal retirement age to 65 and eliminate the sustainability factor

The PCP will deliver bills to Parliament this Wednesday to restore the legal retirement age to 65 years and eliminate the sustainability factor, on the occasion of World Social Security Day.

This set of initiatives, already presented by the party in other legislatures, also includes the guarantee of early access to retirement for those who have 40 or more years of remuneration experience and the review of social provision for inclusionupdating it at 70 euros with effect from January 1.

“It is a set of measures with which we intend to commemorate Social Security Day, which is celebrated today (Wednesday). In line with what we have proposed, we present concrete initiatives aimed at improving the lives of workers, especially those who have worked for many years of their lives and deserve to rest,” explained PCP deputy Alfredo Maia.

The communist deputy highlighted that many of these workers “They began their professional activity, at ages many young 14 or 15 years” and have a solid contributing career.

Asked if the PCP spoke with other parties to analyze the possibility of approving any of the initiatives, the deputy responded that the party has always presented proposals that it considers “fair for the lives of workers, retirees and pensioners.”

“The question that arises is whether the other parties, including those that form the majority, are aware or not of the importance that measures like this represent for the lives of workers,” he argued.
