Russian doctor Alexei Gito, a specialist in cardiovascular disease, revealed that the difference in the level of blood pressure in the hands may indicate the presence of a tumor.
In a television interview, the specialist pointed out that the difference in the level of high blood pressure in the right hand with respect to its level in the left hand, can indicate serious diseases.
He added that if the difference is within 5-10 mm of the mercury column, it is normal, but if the difference is larger, it indicates disease. Of course, the difference may be due to a higher load on one hand, but there are actually more serious reasons.
He said: “There are also pathological causes, such as scalene muscle syndrome (syndrome), where when muscle fibers are damaged, spasm and pressure occur in the arteries. Some benign and malignant tumors can cause pressure in the arteries, atherosclerosis, and the build up of cholesterol plaques on the inner walls of blood vessels, leading to low blood pressure.
The specialist points out that the difference in the level of blood pressure in the hands can occur due to personal congenital anomalies related to the location of the arteries, etc.
