Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “I discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the grain export agreement and Russian nuclear blackmail in Zaporozhye, and we also discussed the theft of Ukrainian grain, in addition to defense cooperation issues.” Turkey is in the interests of both sides,” he said, adding that “the Turkish President’s visit to Ukraine is a strong signal of support from such an important country.”

Earlier, the Turkish President arrived in the Ukrainian city of Lviv in preparation for Zelensky’s tripartite meeting with UN Secretary General António Guterres.

Erdogan traveled overland from Poland to Lvov in western Ukraine.

The Office of Communications under the President of Turkey has previously stated that “all aspects of the strategic relationship between Turkey and Ukraine will be assessed at the level of strategic partnership during President Erdogan’s meetings with his Ukrainian counterpart.”
