  • Two Israeli soldiers die during an operation in Gaza City

The Israeli army announced on Saturday the death of two soldiers during an operation in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the two soldiers, aged 20 and 21 respectively, were killed on Friday in separate incidents in Shejaiya.

The military said the operation led to the location of a weapons warehouse at a school and ended with the deaths of “numerous terrorists.”

The announcement came a day after the Al Quds Brigades announced an attack on Israeli soldiers with a bomb planted in Shejaiya.

The armed wing of the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad said it fired a mortar shell at a concentration of Israeli military vehicles that entered the neighborhood.

According to the Israeli army, the ground offensive against the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip has so far caused the deaths of at least 318 soldiers.

  • Saudi Arabia recommends leaving Lebanon due to possible war between Hezbollah and Israel

The Saudi embassy in Lebanon urged its citizens to leave the country immediately due to the risk of an “all-out war” between the Shiite Hezbollah movement and the Israeli army.

According to the Saudi state news agency SPA, on Saturday the embassy also appealed to all Saudi citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon due to clashes on the southern border with Israel.

Riyadh assured that it is closely monitoring developments in Lebanon and urged the country’s citizens to remain in contact with the Saudi embassy in Beirut in case of any emergency situation.

The announcement comes after several countries, including the United States, advised their citizens in recent days not to travel to Lebanon for fear of a military escalation.

Hours earlier, Iran vowed to retaliate against Israel if the country moves forward with a “large-scale” offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

in a publication on the social network (formerly Twitter), the Iranian mission to the United Nations (UN) in New York said that if Israel “embarks on a large-scale military aggression” in Lebanon, “an annihilating war” will follow.

He warned that all options are now on the table, including the involvement of all members of the axis of resistance, which includes Iran and its allies.

After the attack launched on October 7 by Hamas against Israel, Hezbollah opened a front in northern Israel, in support of the Palestinian movement.

Since then, fighting has occurred almost daily in the border areas.

On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel does not want a war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, but stressed that the country has “the ability to return Lebanon to the Stone Age” in the event of conflict.
